You must be at least 18 years old to use Kella. By choosing Get Started or Sign in, you confirm you meet this requirement. The existing AI data-sharing action also asks you to confirm you are at least 18 before enabling AI. These are your declarations; Kella does not independently verify your age or request your date of birth.
By downloading, installing, or using the Kella mobile application or website at kella.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Kella is an AI cooking system that helps you plan meals, create and save recipes, and add recipe ingredients to shopping lists. The Service is available as a mobile app for Android and iOS, and via the web.
You may begin onboarding before creating an account. Some choices are stored locally, while sign-in, plans and enabled diagnostics may make network requests. To access features such as list syncing, sharing, and premium features, you must create an account using your email address or a supported third-party sign-in provider (Google, Apple).
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
AI suggestions can contain mistakes. A photo cannot reveal every ingredient, hidden allergen or cross-contact risk. Match photo does not apply saved My Kitchen restrictions; My Kitchen adaptation uses relevant saved choices. A hard restriction is an instruction for adaptation, not an allergen-safety guarantee. Check ingredients, labels, substitutions, cooking instructions and food safety before cooking, especially if you have an allergy.
Nutrition values are estimates for the final recipe and serving size, not measured or clinical advice. Some values may be unavailable. Kella is not a medical service.
Kella may offer a trial, after which premium unlocks continued access to the full Kella experience. Premium features include Kella AI Assist, AI recipes, saved recipes, meal planning, food-photo recipe generation, and adding recipe ingredients to shopping lists.
Subscriptions are managed through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Billing, renewals, and cancellations are governed by the respective store's terms. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings.
We may offer a free trial through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store as part of a subscription plan. If a subscription trial is available, it will be shown before purchase and may automatically renew as a paid subscription unless you cancel through your store account before the trial ends.
We may apply fair-use limits to AI-powered features to protect the Service, manage provider costs, and prevent abuse. Current limits include up to 30 Kella AI Assist messages per day, 50 food-photo scans per rolling 30-day period, 50 typed recipe generations per rolling 30-day period, and 50 AI recipe image generations per rolling 30-day period.
A request may count against these limits when it requires AI processing, even if the photo is not food, the request is unsuccessful, or the result is not saved. We may adjust limits where needed for reliability, security, abuse prevention, or plan changes.
You agree not to:
When you share a list with another user, they can view and edit items on that list according to the permissions you set. You are responsible for managing who has access to your shared lists. You can revoke access at any time through the app's settings.
The Kella name, logo, and all associated branding, design, and code are the property of Kella. You retain ownership of any content you create within the Service (e.g. your grocery lists). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
Only upload or import content you are entitled to use. Importing a publisher's recipe does not transfer their rights. AI output may resemble output supplied to others; Kella does not promise exclusive ownership or copyright protection for generated material.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-powered features (such as recipe, meal-planning, and list suggestions) are provided as helpful suggestions and may not always be accurate.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by the law applicable to your claim.
You can delete your account at any time through Settings > Delete Account. Deletion removes primary account-linked app data covered by the deletion process. Provider records, backups and legally required records may follow separate retention rules described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion cannot be undone and does not cancel a store subscription.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Kella after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, these terms do not remove that right.
